Kelsey Gloston, 19, thought her classes at Lone Star College Cy-fair were more important than federal jury duty.

She found out she was wrong when U.S. District Judge David Hittner sent marshals from the Southern District of Texas to get her, and they removed her from campus in handcuffs and leg irons, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Today she apologized to the court, avoiding a contempt hearing, and left with a copy of the U.S. Constitution that had been presented to her by the judge.

“I'm not sure there are a lot of 19-year-olds who would take jury duty seriously,” attorney Dee McWilliams, who represented her at the hearing pro bono, told the newspaper afterward. “I know one who does now."
