BA hopes to restore full schedule Wednesday

LONDON (AP) - British Airways says it hopes to operate a full schedule of long haul flights on Wednesday as it unwinds contingency plans for a canceled cabin crew strike.

Britain's Court of Appeal is expected to rule Thursday on whether the High Court was right to outlaw the planned wave of back-to-back stoppages on Monday evening. That ruling came hours before the first five-day walkout was due to begin at midnight.

If the strike ban is overturned, the Unite union could launch the three remaining five-day strikes it had planned.

BA says it won't return to a full flying schedule until after that decision.

The union is angry that the walkouts were barred on a technicality in how the vote was conducted.
