Anger over Obama's meeting with Ariz. governor

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's planned meeting Thursday with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is angering opponents of Arizona's new immigration law.

They say the law, which Brewer signed, is discriminatory. They also think Obama's leadership on immigration reform has been "halfhearted." Obama and Brewer are to meet Thursday at the White House, and the opponents say they'll protest there.

Brewer says she hopes she and Obama can agree on solutions to improve border security.

The new law will require police enforcing any other law to examine immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion a person is in the country illegally. The Obama administration is preparing for a possible challenge to the law.
