Ala. firm probed in Miss. immigration case

(AP) - Authorities say an Alabama business is the latest company raided as part of an investigation that stems from suspected illegal immigrants working construction jobs at Keesler Air Force base in Mississippi.

Immigration officials confirmed the March 17 raid at Hernandez Stucco in Alabaster, Ala. Officials said nobody was arrested.

Federal court records in Mississippi say a new indictment is expected, though the target is not clear. The telephone rang unanswered Thursday at a listing for Hernandez Stucco.

Three men had already been charged in the investigation. They include Randall Weitzel, identified as the operator of Artisan Textures Inc., in Biloxi, Miss., and Procoat of LA, in Baton Rouge, La.

A defense attorney involved in the case said they are innocent and that the workers had identification papers.
