Add another lawyer to the growing tally of seasoned BigLaw attorneys who are moving to smaller firms.

Lanny Davis, a well-known lawyer in the nation's capital who formerly worked as special counsel to President Bill Clinton, is leaving McDermott Will & Emery to form his own partnership, reports the DealBook blog of the New York Times.

Lanny J. Davis & Associates will focus its practice on Davis' longtime area of expertise--general litigation, media crisis management and public policy.

“I am excited by this opportunity to offer multidiscipline, solution-oriented legal-media-legislative strategies services to U.S. and international clients,” he says in a written statement. “I especially look forward to working with not only McDermott attorneys and clients, but also, with other attorneys and law firms on high-profile litigation and regulatory matters.”
