Attorneys for impeached former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich today filed a motion asking a federal judge in Chicago to subpoena President Barack Obama to testify at Blagojevich's upcoming corruption trial.

But a computer glitch has made numerous redactions in the motion public, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Blagojevich's lawyers suggested they might seek to question the president, the Tribune reports.

"President Obama has direct knowledge to allegations made in the indictment," the defense argued in the filing. "In addition, President Obama's public statements contradict other witness statements."

The filing doesn't accuse the president of any wrongdoing, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

“There are two conflicting stories, and the defense has the right to admit evidence that contradicts the government’s claims,” the filing states. “Only President Obama can do this.”
