Ariz. hotel owners concerned about boycott

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - Some southern Arizona hotel owners and operators are concerned their businesses will be harmed financially if tourists and others decide to boycott the state because of the state's immigration enforcement law.

Bisbee's High Desert Inn co-owner Pearl Lind says that while it's too early to tell what impact the law will have, it's more likely to lead to bad economic conditions for their hotel and others in Cochise County.

Bisbee resident and El Dorado Suites Hotel owner Tim Race says that whatever happens, he doesn't believe it will be positive.

Tourism is one of the biggest sources of income for Arizona.

The law makes it a state crime to be in the country illegally and directs local police to question individuals about their immigration status and demand documentation if they suspect a person is in the country illegally.
