Lawyer: Elaborate plans made to keep Anthony safe

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - One of Casey Anthony's lawyers says that elaborate plans had to be made to keep the woman safe after her release from jail.

Attorney Cheney Mason tells NBC's Today show that the 25-year-old woman freed over the weekend will have a difficult life for a long time, partly because so many people have a "lynch mob mentality."

Anthony was acquitted on July 5 of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. The verdict shocked and enraged many around the country who had been following the case since the girl's 2008 disappearance.

Mason declined to discuss where Casey Anthony went after she was freed on Sunday. But he tells NBC that she is safe.
